Application Notes:

vulcanization (curing)

is the application of heat to convert rubber articles to their finished form. The process causes chemical bonds to form between adjacent molecules (cross-linking) through some reactive agent, such as sulfur or peroxides; the more cross-linking, the harder the finished rubber will be.
