(flammability limits)


is the upper and lower limits of petroleum vapor concentration in air outside of which combustion will not occur. As a general rule, below one volume percent concentration in air (lower explosive limit) the mixture is too lean to support combustion; above six volume percent (upper explosive limit), the mixture is too rich to burn.
