is also called speed factor, determined by multiplying the bore of a rolling-contact bearing (d), in millimeters, by the speed (N), in rpm, of the journal (the shaft or axle supported by the bearings); used in conjunction with operating temperature to help determine the appropriate viscosity of the bearing lubricating oil.
