is in petroleum refining, the conversion of high-boiling residuum, under heat and pressure, to higher-value naphthas, gas oils, and other light products. The catalyst of insulating oils in electrical transmission & distribution (T&D) equipment also produces Coking.  The process produces as a by-product a dry, predominantly carbonaceous residue called coke.
