Standard Test Method for
Low-Temperature Viscosity of Automotive Fluid Lubricants Measured by Brookfield
Viscometer
1.1 This test method describes the use of the Brookfield viscometer for the determination of the low-shear-rate viscosity of automotive fluid lubricants in the temperature range from -5 to -40°C. The viscosity range is 1000 to 1 000 000 cP (mPas).
1.2 The test method uses the centipoise (cP) as the unit of viscosity. For information the equivalent SI unit, the millipascal, is shown in parentheses.
